Terrorism is used to justify perpetual warfare and sexual harassment or assault against men, women, children, seniors, and the handicapped in dozens of airports across the country, but thousands of miles of borders are ignored or neglected.
How many national defense policy-makers demand their neighbors be searched when entering and exiting the neighborhood but leave all the doors and windows open in their own homes? How many of them recommend that strategy as a common-sense safety precaution to their own friends and family? None of course...because that would be stupid.
